MUD CHALLENGE RALLY AT KERWA DAM ON 23rd JUNE 2013
Around 125 vehicles
visited the mud rally spot last Sunday which was very encouraging. On Sunday at
around 4 pm the enrolled participants would be present at race track. The
Technical Coordinator of the Promoters Group told that Kerwa is a different
track from Kaliasot as there are more water huddles in Kerwa as compared to
Kaliasot where the other hurdles were more. The
race will start from Lake View Farm and if the weather conditions remain normal
the race will have four laps of 8 km each.
This
year (2013), around 55 entries are expected. The last date for entry submission
would be June 18 while with the late fee the entry form could be submitted till
June 20.
The
first prize will be of Rs 31000, the second prize will be of Rs 21000 and the
third prize will be of Rs 11000 in both petrol and diesel categories while the
overall champion would be presented with a trophy.
The
participants will have to comply with all the safety and security measures.
Apart from the entry fee, Rs 1000 will be charged for insurance cover during
the rally.

Kaliasot Dam is the most significant of the works and vision of Raja Bhoj was his work for water conservation, as early as eleventh century that named as Kaliasot Dam. The great Bhoj clearly understood the importance of water in the survival, settlement and development of human society. Raja Bhoj of India is yet to get the credit of the first visionary in known history for creating the first man made large reservoir. The great Bhoj dam lasted more than 400 years up to the fifteenth century. It changed the entire eco system of the central India. Forests and wild life developed and the place became a haven for nature and beauty.
It is after Kalia Gond that this river is called Kalia Sot today. A dam on the river was drawn and known as the Kalia Sot dam, and is one of the main sources of water supply to Bhopal city.
